Your Pet's Teeth: Dog & Cat Dental Care
It’s unfortunate but it is estimated that over 80 percent of pets have significant dental problems. Every day, we are presented with patients for routine vaccinations or other minor afflictions whose oral health is truly cause for alarm. The continual presence of bacteria and their associated toxins have a daily impact on your pet’s health. The toxins from periodontal disease are absorbed into your pet’s blood stream. Left untreated, these toxins can cause damage to the kidney, cardiac, and brain tissues.
In keeping with our preventive philosophy, we strongly recommend routine dentals for your pet. Your dentist recommends your teeth to be cleaned every 6 months and for you to brush twice daily. For your pet, we recommend yearly dentals and daily dental treats to help with tarter prevention.
We, at Bulverde Animal Hospital, now offer full month x-rays with our state of the art digital dental equipment. With dental x-rays, we are able to detect abscess and other problems with your pet’s teeth before they arise.
In addition to dog and cat dental care we also offer the following services in the San Antonio / Bulverde area:
